In the 1970s, Roger (Ron Livingston) and Carolyn (Lili Taylor) Perron moved into an old house in Harrisville, Rhode Island, with their five lovely daughters. Although the house was ancient and weathered, the Perron family experienced the joy of returning to the countryside. However, their happiness was short-lived as a series of strange events occurred, causing the girls to scream and pushing the Perron couple to their limits. Consequently, they sought out the renowned Warrens. Ed (Patrick Wilson) is the only recognized exorcist by the Catholic Church, while his wife Lorraine (Vera Farmiga) has the ability to see spirits.
