16-year-old girl Yui (played by YUI) lives in a seaside town. She is youthful and beautiful, but unlike her peers, she cannot freely play and run on the sunlit beach. This is because she suffers from a rare disease—xeroderma pigmentosum (XP), which means her skin cannot be exposed to sunlight; otherwise, it can be life-threatening. From then on, she must avoid sunlight during the day and can only sneak out at night to the station square to sing her favorite songs. During this time, she gradually falls for the surfing boy Takaharu Fujishiro (played by Takashi Tsukamoto), who often passes by the station.
