After retiring, the master of Taiwanese Chinese cuisine, Old Zhu (Lang Hsiung), begins to experience the many awkward aspects of old age: the elaborate meals he prepares every Sunday fail to attract his three daughters (Yang Kuei-Mei, Wu Chien-Lien, Wang Yu-Wen) to the dining table, as they have grown up and hold many things more important than dining with their father; the sudden passing of a long-time friend leaves a gap in his friendships; and the loss of his most crucial sense as a chef, taste, pushes him to the lowest point in his life. The three daughters, busy with their own lives, are also concerned about Old Zhu's later years and plan to find him a partner, but they are unaware that he has quietly begun to pursue a "twilight romance." After their initial shock, the second daughter, who inherits her father's culinary talent, gains a new understanding of her relationship with him due to her own life experiences, and for Old Zhu, an even greater surprise awaits.
