The story takes place in Palestine, where a fisherman named Jafar (played by Sasson Gabai) discovers a massive pig. In Jafar's religious belief, pigs are embodiments of sin and filth, so to rid himself of this evil, he decides to sell this rare pig. However, Jafar's friends think differently; the barber advises Jafar to use this opportunity to gain fame and make money, while the farmer's wife Elena (played by Myriam Tekaïa) insists on having the pig breed. As Jafar contemplates getting rid of the pig while keeping this secret from his wife, he finds himself in a dilemma. However, things are not as simple as they seem; Jafar and his pig’s fame spreads far and wide, and local religious extremists deem Jafar a traitor among the faithful and arrest him.
