In the 1930s, stage actor Tyler Walker suffers a mental breakdown after his lover Myrna leaves him to marry someone else. He spends his days in his mansion with a fashion model dressed like Myrna, and one night, Tyler hangs himself. Many years later, the financially troubled Cates family suddenly learns they have inherited Tyler's old house. Eager for shelter, the Cates couple takes their son Scott and daughter Robin to the property. After years of neglect, the old house is in ruins and occupied by a street gang led by the volatile Silk.
