This documentary is the fifth installment in the series directed by Michael Apted that began filming in 1964. Michael Apted filmed the documentary "7 Up" for BBC in 1964, interviewing fourteen seven-year-old children from different social classes in the UK, some from orphanages and others from upper-class families. Every seven years thereafter, Apted would revisit these children, listen to their dreams, and discuss their lives. By this time they are all 35 years old, established in their families and careers. Apted once again tracks their lives, recording whether their careers have succeeded and if their love lives are fulfilling. Seven years have passed, and the marks of time have quietly appeared on each person's face. Once again, after another seven years, whose fate smiles upon them, or is it just a grand joke played on all of us?
