The Earth will be hit by an asteroid, and there are only three weeks until the end of the world. People are spending their last days in their own ways: some are busy breaking up, some are spending time with family, and others are focused on fulfilling wishes. Doug (played by Steve Carell) is left alone when his wife runs away at the first opportunity, and he runs into his neighbor Penny (played by Keira Knightley), who is crying under his window after missing her flight home.
