The 16-year-old protagonist Russell (Cameron Deane Stewart) is sunny and handsome, able to date any girl, yet he has a crush on the captain of the school football team, Kevin (Justin Deeley). To spend more time with Russell, Kevin brings him onto the team, only for Russell to quickly become the star quarterback. While they are being intimate, they are inadvertently caught by a Chinese girl named Ming (Ally Maki), who invites them to join a strange club called the "Geography Club," which is said to be filled with people like them. However, as Russell feels more peers in need of help, Kevin always prioritizes football, leading to differences between them... Based on the bestselling young adult novel of the same name, "Geography Club" is a microcosm of American college life, telling the story of a group of vibrant young people discovering their sexual orientation, dreams, and values in life. Notably, Alex Newell, who played the charismatic transgender character "Unique" in "Glee," reprises his role in the film, stealing the spotlight.
