Raibert (played by Hugh Jackman) is a fallen noble duke from the 19th century. At a matchmaking banquet arranged by his family, he unwittingly stumbles into a time tunnel while trying to track down a stranger, the mad scientist Stuart, bringing him to the 21st century over 100 years later. Stuart's unexpected hospitalization leaves the duke struggling in an unfamiliar environment. By chance, he meets Stuart's ex-girlfriend Kate (played by Meg Ryan)—an ambitious, independent, and intelligent advertising executive. A series of events draws them together, creating a romantic melody that transcends time... However, the journey through time is bound to be fraught with challenges. To align with the course of history, the discharged Stuart must send Raibert back to his own era, putting the budding romance between Raibert and Kate at risk of temporal separation. Are they fated to be together or just a fleeting encounter? Can they overcome the barriers of time to be together?
