Stephen (Ryan Phillippe) and Sharon (Rachel Leigh Cook) travel to Puerto Rico to adopt a Haitian girl named Nina through an agency. They meet Benjamin (John Cusack), who is wearing a windbreaker and has messy hair, at their hotel. After paying $60,000, Nina suddenly goes missing, the adoption agency's staff disappears, and the website is inaccessible... The local police inform them that they have fallen victim to a phishing scam; the lure of adopting a child was used to collect the adoption fee, after which the child was taken away to target the next victim.
