High school girl Konomi (Yurika Nakamura) unexpectedly sees her charming uncle Yukihiko Nishino (Takuya Kimura), who had a relationship with her mother, Natsumi (Kumiko Asou), ten years ago. Nishino recently passed away unexpectedly; he had said he would meet Natsumi after death. Initially frightened, Konomi gradually gets used to Nishino's presence and attends his funeral. At the beautiful manor, mournful yet uplifting music plays as women dressed in black enter one by one, all of whom once had relationships with Nishino. Konomi accidentally meets housewife Sayaka (Sawako Agawa) and hears her recount the wild past of Nishino, who juggled relationships with Manami (Machiko Ono), Yukinoko (Tsubasa Honda), Subaru (Riko Narumi), and A-tama (Fumino Kimura). Although Nishino seems carefree, he has something he pursues but cannot obtain... This film is adapted from Hiroko Kawakami's novel, the winner of the 115th Akutagawa Prize.
