When love faces life, when life faces war. At the most fragile and vulnerable moments, the only thing to do is to struggle desperately for the slightest glimmer of hope. And that little bit of beauty is worth everything. "Birdsong" tells the story of the male protagonist Stephen Wraysford's tumultuous love affair with a French woman named Isabelle before the war, and his experiences in the army six years later during World War I. Once, the love was filled with the clear sound of bird song, beautiful yet leaving an indelible pain in Stephen's heart. After enduring the baptism of war and recognizing the beauty of life amidst the cruelty of reality, he finds hope and motivation again, and at that very moment, the war finally ends. Based on Sebastian Faulks' novel of the same name, it tells the bittersweet tale of a young couple during World War I, featuring both bloody war scenes and poignant romance. Eddie Redmayne and Clémence Poésy star as the lead characters, with support from Matt McGorry, Joseph Mawle, and the BBC recreating the work of novelist Sebastian Faulks in "Birdsong."
