A former ancestral hall has been converted into a center for left-behind children. This center was established by a retired principal named Zhang Yun, specifically to care for those children whose parents have gone to work in the city and are left at home without supervision. 14-year-old Lan Jinyu's parents went to work in Shanghai and sent him here. Lan Jinyu has strong resistance and, during his adjustment to the new environment, fights, runs away, and gets into trouble due to coercion and instigation from local delinquents... Jin Yue is a 9-year-old left-behind girl whose parents have worked in the city for years. After their relationship fell apart and their family was restructured, they each fought for their new lives, leaving little Jin Yue at the center, indifferent to her well-being. These shocks are immense pains for the fragile girl, and her personality becomes increasingly withdrawn... The left-behind children center is forced to disband, and the children are unwilling to part.
