In 1970s America, just after the abolition of segregation, racial conflicts in the southern regions remain severe. Tony Nathan (Caleb Castille), a talented football player at Birmingham Woodlawn High School, is unable to join the team due to racial tensions with other Black students. Coach Tandy (Nic Bishop) takes the initiative to form a mixed team of Black and white students. Tandy believes that love and hope can unite the whole team, and gradually the players, the entire school, and the teachers begin to accept his vision. The film is based on the true story of legendary NFL player Tony Nathan.
