The renowned physicist Carl Damiron (played by Steven Weber) and his partner Rachel Reed (played by Christina Cox) gain widespread attention for developing the DRIL conversion project at Prochus, which promises to drastically change the energy supply model for society. However, numerous opposing organizations attempt to halt this plan, which they believe could jeopardize safety.
