Despite being understaffed, he works tirelessly alongside Jiro Sunayama (played by Jun Kaname), Shizue Tokimura (played by Michiko Kichise), Naomi Nishi (played by Chizuru Ikewaki), Yoko Minazuki (played by Aki Asakura), and his senior Seichiro Kunitada (played by Akira Emoto) to care for every patient who seeks help. Kurihara's wife, Haruna (played by Aoi Miyazaki), is a freelance photographer, and although the couple spends little time together, they warm each other's weary hearts. One day, Kurihara receives an opportunity to further his studies at his alma mater, the medical university, while patients who deeply trust him keep coming in, and he and those around him face a difficult choice... This film is adapted from the eponymous work by Kosuke Nakagawa, a doctor in the Ueno region.
