Second-year high school girl Izumi Konata is a true otaku. At school, she becomes good friends with the distinctly different Hiiragi sisters and the often careless Takara Miyuki. The four often hang out and discuss together. During today’s lunch break, Izumi Konata surprisingly brings up the strange topic of "starting to eat sandwich bread from that side"! Everyone surprisingly takes an interest and begins discussing it.
