In order to save her sister, who is about to be annihilated, the youngest daughter of the Jade Emperor, Xiao Qi (played by Lin Yi Chen), secretly descends to Earth to find her sister's (played by Guo Fei Li) lover, Lao Fu Zi (played by Xie Jun Hao). By chance, she meets Tong Yuan (played by Hu Ge), who is flying a kite. Fearless Xiao Qi develops a fondness for the kind-hearted Tong Yuan during her time on Earth. However, when the Jade Emperor (played by Xu Jin Jiang) discovers that Xiao Qi has descended to Earth, she is forced to part with Tong Yuan and return to the heavenly realm. Moved by Tong Yuan’s integrity and kindness, the Jade Emperor decides to take away Xiao Qi's celestial powers so that she can learn from Tong Yuan in the human world. Yet, worried that Xiao Qi, who is naive in love, might develop feelings for Tong Yuan, he removes her emotional roots. Once in the human realm, Xiao Qi works hard to accomplish the good deeds set by the Jade Emperor in order to quickly return to the heavenly realm, and the spells she obtains from the magic pouch increase. However, as she grows, the emotional roots that were taken away begin to regrow, and her past feelings for Tong Yuan resurface. Faced with the heavenly rules that forbid love between celestial beings and mortals, and the lessons learned from her sister and Lao Fu Zi, how will the two lovers confront this choice of love?
