In the early 1980s, Norway's oil industry began to prosper. Authorities discovered a massive oil "storage facility" in the North Sea and hoped to install a 500-meter pipeline underground to extract the resources for their own use. Peter (Aksel Hennie) happens to be such a diving talent. He is obsessed with deep-sea diving and dares to take on the world's most dangerous missions. But just as he prepares to undertake this new job, an accident changes the course of the story. From then on, deep-sea exploration becomes a deadly journey, with danger constantly closing in, and his life hanging by a thread.
