The 1989 film "The Fly II" is the sequel to the 1986 film "The Fly." The story continues from the first film, where the mother, Veronica, becomes pregnant with Seth's child, and dies from fright when she gives birth to a fly larva. The government's research agency, Bartok Industrial, takes in the fly's son, Martin Brundle (played by Eric Stoltz), who is raised by Mr. Bartok (played by John Getz), the head of Bartok Industries. Mr. Bartok closely monitors Martin's every move, seemingly treating him like his own son, but in reality, he views him as a research subject, secretly recording all his life processes with a camera and allowing Martin to study the time-space teleportation device his father had created. Martin appears handsome and normal, except for his astonishing growth rate and extraordinary talents. Soon, Martin falls in love with the beautiful Beth Logan (played by Daphne Zuniga). However, the mutated chromosomes hidden within Martin suddenly awaken, leading to the terrifying news that he is set to become the next "Fly Man."
