Mainland security guard A-Feng (played by Yu Rongguang) is agile and has always wanted to venture out into the world. One day, A-Feng performs a heroic deed and, together with his cousin police officer A-Hua (played by Michelle Yeoh), rescues hostages kidnapped by a group of terrorists, earning praise from the police department. A-Feng feels that this praise is meaningless and decides to venture to Hong Kong alone.
