Nicole Bonnet (played by Audrey Hepburn) is the daughter of wealthy art collector Charles Bonnet (played by Hugh Griffith). Nicole is not only beautiful but also very intelligent. One day, a museum in Paris is about to hold an art exhibition, and her father, who enjoys creating forgeries of masterpieces, is unexpectedly invited to participate. However, the so-called great masterpiece, a statue of Venus, is actually a fake made by her grandfather.
