Clara (played by Lucia Bosé) was originally a shop assistant, but after being discovered by filmmaker Granni, she entered the film industry. Her beauty brought her increasing fame, and the films she starred in achieved box office success. Soon, Clara was forced to marry the producer who had helped her. After marriage, her husband constantly interfered in her acting career and made her stray from her own cinematic ideals. After a quarrel, she finally agreed to star in "Saint Joan," but the film received a torrent of negative reviews upon release. This not only put her husband in financial trouble but also plunged Clara into pain. At her lowest point, she met Gini (played by Andrea Checchi), who brought her love and understanding again. In a moment of impulse, she decided to elope with Gini, only to find out that he merely wanted a casual affair with a movie star. After Clara regained her senses, she reconsidered her life...
