Apple has announced a new thriller series titled "Disclaimer," written and directed by renowned filmmaker Alfonso Cuarón, starring Cate Blanchett and Kevin Kline. The series is based on the novel of the same name by Renee Knight, telling the story of Catherine Ravenscroft, portrayed by Blanchett, a successful and respected television documentary journalist dedicated to uncovering the hidden misconduct of prestigious institutions. One day, Ravenscroft begins reading a gripping novel written by a widower (Kline) as a bedtime story and becomes terrified—she discovers that she is the key character in the story, and its content reveals a past she wishes to bury. Cuarón and Blanchett also serve as executive producers for the series, with Cuarón's longtime collaborator Emmanuel Lubezki and Bruno Delbonnel as the cinematographers.
