The girl's father, Hothensia, was electrocuted by the refrigerator door, got fired by her boss, and her boyfriend is now with her best friend—desperate, she discovers the life goals she wrote at fourteen and vows: "To marry a boy with golden hair like my father and design the most beautiful shoes in the world." However, when she fails to genuinely listen to her inner voice, things only get worse. Ultimately, she pushes the refrigerator off a cliff, no longer caring about the dreams of her fourteen-year-old self, and allows her present self to make choices.
