For twelve years away from home, Baiyin Baolige (played by Tengger) returns to the grassland to the melody of "The Black Steed," which has been sung for years. He seeks to find his grandmother who raised him and his childhood sweetheart Somiya (played by Narenhua)... As a child who lost his mother, Baiyin Baolige was sent by his father to be raised by his kind-hearted grandmother. He began a nomadic life, migrating with his grandmother and her granddaughter Somiya. When Baiyin Baolige grew into a teenager, a colt unexpectedly arrived outside their yurt. This little horse, named Gangahalha - the black steed, accompanied Baiyin Baolige as he matured.
