Young girl Sachiko (played by Aoi Miyazaki) experiences a scandalous love affair with her teacher, while her mother Naruko (played by Ryo) survives a suicide attempt. The continuous blows of life become unbearable for Sachiko; after entering middle school, she skips classes and spends her days wandering. She befriends a boy named Takafumi, who makes money through petty theft, and a mentally fragile middle-aged man named Kyuuzou.
