Art college student Ben (played by Sean Biggerstaff) can't sleep at night after being dumped by his girlfriend, Suzhi. After two weeks of sleepless nights, Ben decides to take a night shift at the supermarket to pass those extra 8 hours. At the supermarket, Ben meets a variety of people, including his prankster colleagues Barry and Matt, a super Chinese Kung Fu enthusiast named Brian, and cashier Sharon (played by Emilia Fox). Here, Ben discovers he has the ability to stop time. He repeatedly stops time during his night shifts to paint various women with his brush. Unconsciously, Ben realizes he has developed feelings for Sharon and is no longer insomnia-ridden. Just as he's about to make his romantic move, misunderstandings start piling up, and Ben begins to lose sleep again.
