Annie (played by Scarlett Johansson), a New York University graduate from a working-class family, prepares to become a successful career woman with her mother's high hopes. However, just when Annie feels lost about her future, an unexpected event disrupts her original life path when she finds a job as a nanny for the X family on Fifth Avenue in Manhattan, taking care of their four-year-old son, Grayer, full-time. Yet, this well-paying job is not as easy as she imagined. Besides dealing with the willful and mischievous Grayer, Annie is also responsible for household chores while hiding her current job from her mother. The wealthy X family isn't as glamorous as it seems; Mr. X is busy making money and is rarely home, while Mrs. X is preoccupied with shopping, socializing, and sometimes nitpicking Annie's work. The couple seems to have little time for their son Grayer, and their marriage appears to be strained. Amidst this, a handsome wealthy young man named Harvard (played by Chris Evans) enters her life. Can Annie, caught up in all of this, be a good nanny for this wealthy family? Where will she and Harvard's relationship lead…
