Later, Millay finally arrived in Yan'an, where she met the legendary Zhu De and experienced the even more legendary Chinese Workers' and Peasants' Red Army. In Yan'an, she appreciated General Zhu De's great yet modest personal charm, and through several conversations with him, her thoughts were inspired, and her spirit was uplifted.
