Ghost movies are usually aimed at scaring the audience, but director Chan Ka-Sun goes against this trend. Though he casts the typically villainous actor Shi Jian as the lead, the character is actually a kind-hearted ghost, Jian Ren. This kind ghost not only becomes friends with a boy named Xiao Ji (Leung Chun Kit) but also helps Xiao Ji's father Ah Zhu (Dik Lung) and mother Mei Qi (Siu Fong Fong) to calmly handle their crumbling marriage and realize that they still deeply love each other. With Xiao Ji's mediation and Jian Ren's covert assistance, Xiao Ji's parents ultimately reconcile, and Xiao Ji regains his parents' love, living happily ever after. Jian Ren also achieves his goal and quietly bids farewell to Xiao Ji...
