The original work of "Court Games" is a courtroom mystery novel by Ruito Igarashi, who won the 62nd Mephisto Award. Nagase aims for a career in law as "Seigi", Kuga Kiyoshi, while Sugisaki plays Seigi's childhood friend, Orimoto Misuzu, who is also studying law. Kitamura portrays the genius Yuuki Kaoru, who oversees a mock trial known as the "Innocent Game." Throughout the drama, the truth hidden behind the masks of Seigi, Misuzu, and Kaoru is revealed, triggered by a murder incident that occurs during the trial game.
