On May 24, 2021, a visually impaired individual from China, Zhang Hong, reached the summit of the world's highest peak, Mount Everest. He became the first blind climber in Asia and the third blind climber in the world to summit this peak. However, what drives Zhang Hong, who cannot enjoy the view from the top, to pursue climbing? What challenges did he face on his journey to achieving his goal of conquering the “Roof of the World”? The director and his team, who are the first in China to win both the Emmy Award for Best Documentary and the Best Long-Form Commercial Reporting Award, personally documented Zhang Hong's entire climbing process over three years, spanning two countries. The film authentically showcases the magnificent scenery of Mount Everest, the brutal and perilous challenges, the historical moment of Zhang's summit, and the numerous struggles he faced regarding his physical limitations, significant financial and time costs, emotional choices, and the impact of climate and terrain. In facing the “invisible summit,” Zhang Hong continually inspires himself with the spirit of “though the road is long, it will come to an end.” In his words, “No matter how difficult the road is, taking one step is still progress.”
