In a small town called Reedville in Colorado, a mysterious virus spreads. To prevent the outbreak, the government dispatches troops to ensure that local residents do not leave the town, while the hospital becomes overcrowded. Private Sarah Berman (played by Mena Suvari) and soldier Bud (played by Stark Sands) take her sick mother to the hospital, only to find that the patients inside suddenly transform into horrific, bloodthirsty zombies. They attack anyone infected, and all those who are bitten quickly become zombies themselves. Sarah and her companions quickly hop into a Jeep to escape but learn through the radio that her brother Trevor (played by Michael Welch) is trapped in a certain building. To save her only brother, Sarah and her companions charge back into the flesh-eating zombie horde...
