In the early stages of the Anti-Japanese War, the National Jiangnan Qianjiang University relocated westward. Due to a lack of transportation, the faculty and students, led by Principal Jiang Weicheng (played by Zhi Yitong), carried their belongings on their shoulders and finally settled in a small town. Here, they actively engaged in various forms of anti-Japanese rescue activities. The chief instructor, Fu Mengqi (played by Qi Mingyuan), tried to obstruct the students' patriotic actions in every possible way. With the support of the progressive faculty and students, Principal Jiang waged a fierce struggle against the reactionary forces. Faced with the developments of the war, Qian University continued its westward migration, encountering devastation along the way. Jiang's wife, Tian Wan (played by Xiang Mei), died during the journey, and his son, Song Song, along with student Lu Hua (played by Fu Chong), were killed by enemy aircraft. In the face of these tragic scenes, many began to lose hope in the westward migration, and some even suggested disbanding. Principal Jiang, despite the pain of losing his wife and son, patiently persuaded everyone to establish the confidence to "share the fate of Qian University."...
