In the wetlands of Camargue in southern France, a white-maned stallion, unable to bear the abuse of its owner, escapes. The boy and the horse are willing to flee for freedom... This film, made by Albert Lamorisse in 1953, is a representative work of the "poetic fantasy film" that emerged in France after the 1950s. It won the Best Short Film Award at the 1953 Cannes International Film Festival and the 1953 Jean Vigo Short Film Award.
