Shira Kaname (played by Junichi Ito) was born in a temple and studied at the sacred Buddhist site Koyasan University. After completing his studies, he chose not to shave his head and begin a temple life; instead, he grew his hair and worked at a bookstore. Despite being born and raised in a temple, Kaname feels a deep contradiction within himself. Faced with a future full of endless possibilities, he hesitates and struggles to take the next step. Just then, an unexpected incident occurs when Kaname's grandfather, the temple's head priest Ryoen (played by Tohru Shinagawa), can no longer continue his work at the temple. Thus, Kaname seizes this opportunity to enter the temple, succeeding his grandfather as the head priest of Eifukuji. It is only after becoming the head priest that Kaname realizes how different everything in the temple is from what he had imagined. Challenges and troubles abound—can Kaname persevere, stay true to his original intentions, and fulfill his wishes?
