In the 1970s, a small-time man named Kim Sung-keun (played by Sol Kyung-gu) desperately wants to become an actor, but contrary to his wishes, he faces countless setbacks. By chance, he gets an opportunity for an acting audition, but he ends up being brutally beaten along with other successful candidates. Just when he is on the verge of death, he learns that he has passed the final selection. It turns out that a mysterious organization from a certain country is plotting a scheme for North-South talks, and so they order Kim Sung-keun to expertly imitate Kim Il-sung in a short period. As he gets deeper into this process, he becomes increasingly entangled. In the 21st century, Kim Sung-keun's son, Kim Tae-jik (played by Park Hae-il), is overwhelmed by debt and at his wit's end decides to sell the old house left by his father. To obtain his father's handprint, he brings his father, who lives in the world of Kim Il-sung, back from the hospital. The great leader of the socialist nation and the incapable son of capitalism finally return under the same roof...
