Hana (voiced by Aoi Miyazaki), who is studying at a national university, falls in love with a man (voiced by Takao Osawa) who comes to audit a class. Even though he is a werewolf, she willingly embraces him. Over the years, Hana gives birth to a daughter, Yuki, and a son, Ame. However, misfortune strikes as her gentle husband passes away. The delicate yet strong Hana does her utmost to raise her two children, concerned about every aspect of their lives, from their clothing to their meals. The children's identities as werewolves force them to leave the bustling metropolis and seek survival in a quiet rural countryside. They settle in an old house, where Yuki is lively and spirited while Ame is delicate and reserved. The siblings roam the deep mountains and dense forests in their wolf forms, enjoying unprecedented happiness and freedom. During this time, the villagers, represented by Grandpa Jingo (voiced by Bunta Sugawara), provide heartfelt care to Hana's family. As Yuki and Ame grow up, they eventually face an important moment that will define their identities and future… The film won the Special Jury Award at the 34th Yokohama Film Festival and the Best Animated Film Award at the 36th Japan Academy Prize.
