A classic Huangmei opera comedy co-directed by Li Hanxiang and Gao Li. The Deputy Minister of War, Cheng Pu (played by Jing Miao), has arranged for his second daughter, Xue'e (played by Li Xiangjun), to marry his friend's son, Mu Juyi (played by Jin Feng). Cheng's concubine, Madam Cheng (played by Gao Baoshu), is both angry and annoyed, and misleads Juyi into believing that the eldest daughter, Xueyan (played by Zhuang Yuanyong), is Xue'e, urging the two to wed soon. Juyi, frightened by the ugly and foolish Xueyan, runs away after leaving a letter. Wealthy man Zhu Huanran (played by Jiang Guangchao) has long admired Xue'e and seizes the opportunity to impersonate Juyi to come to the wedding… This film features Li Xiangjun and Jin Feng as the male and female leads, which is a fresh pairing; and the comedic performances of Jiang Guangchao and Zhuang Yuanyong, one fat and one thin, are sure to make audiences laugh out loud.
