This drama is adapted from the novel of the same name by Eri Sugimori. Through the final journey, it deeply explores the theme of "why we live." It tells the story of Riku Sakurada, who was once a surgeon but suddenly became unable to hold a scalpel. He was later transferred to internal medicine due to psychological issues. Among the hospitalized patients, Shō Naruse is declared to have a limited lifespan, and Riku is his attending physician. Shō, weary of surgery and treatment, asks Riku to end his life.
