This film, written and directed by Chu Yuan (pen name Qin Yu) in 1980, stars David Wu, Pai Piao, and Cheng Li. The story is adapted from Zhu Yu's martial arts novel set in the early Republican era, telling the tale of Deng Biao (David Wu) whose black market dealings go awry, leading him to force the martial artist Gao Ming (Wang Rong) to reveal the person who set him up. After Gao states that it was the Black Panther, he is shot dead by Deng, resulting in Deng being sentenced to fifteen years in prison. Upon his release, Deng seeks revenge on the Black Panther but encounters significant interference from the powerful Ge Baye (Pai Piao). Meanwhile, Shang Lin (Cheng Li) is searching for her husband who has been missing for fifteen years and wants to ask Deng about the whereabouts of the Black Panther; however, they have only heard the name Black Panther and never seen him.
