During the Japanese rule in Taiwan, a legendary story of a resistance hero. Young and passionate Yang Abao (played by Wang Rong) confronts the Japanese police to stand up for his fellow countrymen. Traitor Pan Dazhi covets the beauty of Abao's fiancée, Deng Feng (played by Ling Yin), and in a fit of rage, Abao kills Pan Dazhi and injures the chief of the Japanese police. Abao flees alone to the Malan Forest in Taitung, where he falls in love with the local mountain girl, Yu Sanmei (played by Ling Bo), while the Japanese police pursue him...
