On the eve of the Hundred Regiments Offensive, the flames of resistance against Japan are burning across North China. The highest commander of the Japanese army in Cloud City, Xiufu, is a war maniac who vows to destroy the will of all resistors. During a cleanup operation, he notices the willing who broke through the encirclement after killing Major Yetian and swears to capture him. The willing escapes from death and encounters his brother Gannxin, the leader of a Eighth Route Army squad on a mission.
