Dennis Quaid will star in the biopic "Reagan," portraying former U.S. President Ronald Wilson Reagan. David Henrie (from "The Wizards of Waverly Place") will play young Reagan, and Jon Voight is also set to appear. Filming is planned for the fall, with a release scheduled for next summer. Sean McNamara (known for "The Miracle Season" and "Soul Surfer") will direct, while Jonas McCord ("The Bible Code" and "The Young Warriors") and Howard Klausner ("Space Cowboys" and "The Power of Forgiveness") are writing the screenplay, based on two autobiographies by writer Paul Kengor. The film will cover Reagan's childhood, his presidential term, and his time in the Screen Actors Guild, exploring his experiences as Governor of California, his role during the fall of the Berlin Wall, and his struggles with Alzheimer's in his final days, as well as the obsession that led John Hinckley Jr. to attempt to assassinate the Republican president in 1981.
