Charcoal Head (played by Liu Qingyun) has always been unable to escape the shadow of being abandoned by his girlfriend, living a life full of melancholy every day. One day, Charcoal Head encounters the cheerful and optimistic Ah Rong (played by Yuan Yung-yi), whose joy and innocence gradually infect Charcoal Head. Over time, the two come together and form a family. Ah Rong has always hoped to have her own child, but Charcoal Head recoils at the thought of the burdens and responsibilities that come with having a child. Eventually, Ah Rong becomes pregnant.
