This animated film is a paper puppet animation. Once upon a time, an old man and his grandson were leading a donkey to the market. Along the way, they faced many confusions regarding whether to ride the donkey or not, and how to ride it, resulting in numerous humorous incidents. At first, the donkey wouldn't move forward at all, causing the grandfather and grandson to rack their brains; when they encountered a traveler riding a donkey, they were mocked for being fools for not riding it. The old man found this reasoning valid and let his grandson ride the donkey; when a bookish man saw the child leisurely riding the donkey while the old man was panting from walking, he mentioned respecting the elderly, which the old man also found reasonable, and they switched places; halfway through, the grandson accidentally tripped and cried loudly, drawing the attention of a devout old lady, who scolded the old man. Again, the old man thought she had a point and let the grandson ride the donkey; the bookish man caught up and argued with the old lady about who should ride the donkey. The old man decided to ride the donkey with his grandson, but then a woodcutter saw them and accused him of not caring for the animal.
