On a land reclamation site along the coastline of Singapore, worker Wang Bicheng has gone missing. Two detectives arrive on the scene to inquire about Wang Bicheng's whereabouts. In a restless atmosphere and sleepless nights, the detectives dream of Wang Bicheng's figure, and the unsettling truth will be revealed in a humid, dreamlike world where reality and illusion blur. Director Yang Xiuhua collaborates with seasoned actor Hong Rong and actress Guo Yue from "A Landscape of Path" to unveil the survival dilemmas of undocumented migrant workers along Singapore's coast within an indistinguishable narrative structure. Beneath the noir film base, intertwining saxophone music and neon lights create a dreamlike spatial experience through a perspective-switching storytelling method. The story background is extremely realistic, yet the visual style remains melancholic and detached, guiding the audience away from stereotypical imaginations of Singapore. In the fragmented passage of time, it explores the current anxieties of contemporary Singapore.
