After Hurricane Katrina, the camera focuses on our protagonist, Al (played by Forest Whitaker), a middle-aged man who is a basketball coach at a high school in Orleans. The natural disaster has devastated many nearby schools, making it impossible for them to resume normal classes, so many students transfer to Al's high school to continue their education. Al faces a huge challenge - leading a basketball team made up of players from different schools to compete for the state basketball championship. However, in addition to the rigorous training, Al must also address conflicts and issues among the students, which adds a series of difficulties and challenges. He needs to find ways to solve problems, coordinate teamwork, and motivate the students to overcome obstacles and strive for a common goal. In this story, we will witness Al's leadership skills and perseverance in the face of adversity, as well as the growth and transformation of the students under his guidance.
