In 1987, Disney released a very special film almost entirely starring animals, titled "Benji the Hunted." The story revolves around a dog named Benji. Before "Benji the Hunted," the Mulberry Square production company, led by director Joe Camp, had released three films featuring the character Benji in 1974, 1977, and 1980, all of which were well received by audiences. The 1987 film marked the first collaboration with Disney, reintroducing this legendary dog! The plot tells the story of the adventurous Benji who finds himself lost in the wilderness. Benji discovers a mother leopard shot by hunters, leaving behind four helpless cubs. Driven by compassion, Benji neglects his own desire to return home and takes on the responsibility of caring for the cubs, even giving up several chances to return. Additionally, Benji must watch out for attacks from fierce wild animals, like coyotes, to protect the cubs' safety. In the end, he manages to find a suitable home for the little leopards. The film is directed by Joe Camp, and since most of the scenes feature animals, there are not many dialogues. The storyline is quite touching, and the music, composed by Euel Box, adds to its charm.
